Is the South Pacific Cruises Worth It?
February 7, 2024I Accidentally Sailed Solo On Ovation Of The Seas
April 26, 2024It’s reported that Virgin Voyages‘ Resilient Lady has made a strategic decision for the upcoming 2024/2025 summer cruise season, opting for a temporary home port in the Caribbean. This move is attributed to ongoing challenges in the Red Sea, as officially reported by the cruise line.
In a recent announcement, Virgin Voyages shared that Resilient Lady will be departing from Athens, embarking on 7, 8, 10, and 11-night voyages from San Juan, Puerto Rico, marking a shift from its originally planned itinerary. Bookings for these new sailings are set to open on February 29th.

This significant change follows the removal of Resilient Lady’s local itineraries from the cruise line’s website and booking platforms recently. The decision to reroute the Lady Ship’s upcoming repositioning cruise from Australia to the Mediterranean aims to avoid the Suez Canal and the Red Sea, opting for a route through the West African coast en route to Europe.
What if I have a cruise booked?
Guests affected by these alterations have the option to choose between a full refund or an alternative sailing. Additionally, for those who secured My Next Virgin Voyage (MNVV) deposits during the Australia & New Zealand season, the cruise line is automatically extending them for an additional 12 months. The adjustment will be reflected online once the necessary changes are processed by the system, as reported by Virgin Voyages.
