We’ve reached out directly to Royal for an official statement or comment on the status of the NorthStar for our website.
For those eagerly anticipating a ride on the NorthStar, we’ve got some news to share. Unfortunately, the NorthStar experience is temporarily on hold due to a cracked glass panel. According to a fellow cruiser onboard the Quantum, it’s possible that this might not be resolved until the next dry dock session. it’s unconfirmed on the current status of the Northstar

SunnyMer from the Royal forums said the following
“Currently onboard Quantum, and our genie confirmed that one of the glass panels cracked. She also said it may not be repaired until dry dock.“
Sunnymer – Soruce royalcaribbeanblog.com Posted July 31
But fret not, NorthStar enthusiasts! This unique glass capsule that offers unparalleled views of the open sea is taking a brief hiatus, with plans to return better than ever. You can look forward to breathtaking vistas once it’s back in action.
Update 26/11/23
We’ve recently come of quantum where we were able to quickly get some photos and find out what was happening on board behind the scenes a bit. As we covered above a glass panel was damaged (Portside next to the sliding door) which has since been replaced by a sheet of metal. It’s currently out of service and isn’t expected to be back in service until Quantum is dry-docked in NOV 2024. We talked with crew which confirmed it was due to a damaged glasses panel but weren’t able to confirm on what happened.

Regrettably, the Bionic Bar is also “apparently” temporarily out of service on Quantum of the Seas, although we don’t have all the specifics regarding the reason. Rest assured that the ship’s crew is diligently working to get it back up and running – it’s unconfirmed on the current status of the bionic bar.
Shaneomatic From the Royal Forums said
“Northstar and bionic bar still down on quantum of the seas”
Shaneomatic – Soruce royalcaribbeanblog.com Posted July 11
We can’t find any information on exactly what is wrong with our robotic friend – however, we’re hoping this will be sorted out in a timely manner. As we get more information we’ll update this.
UPDATE 10th NOV 2023
Bionic Bar is working at 50/30% Capacity with one arm broken and out of service currently, with the other arm doing all the work. However the other arm is also suffering some technical issues which will cause it to suddenly pass and freeze, there is staff on hand standing by to fix it. It’s fixed relatively fast but it means what will normally take 3 -5 minutes for a drink is now taking upwards of 15-30 minutes (Personally experienced)

The Bionic Bar is a must-visit spot for tech-savvy cruisers and cocktail enthusiasts. When it’s back in action, make sure to swing by and witness the marvel of robotic mixologists crafting your drinks with precision.
