First Time Cruising with Royal Caribbean: Your Ultimate Tips And Guide
September 26, 202310 Night New Zealand Cruise Ovation of the Seas: A Spectacular Voyage of Natural Wonders
September 27, 2023If you’re planning your next Royal Caribbean cruise and have dreams of lounging in the serene Solarium area, there’s a slight change you should know about. Royal Caribbean has tweaked its policy regarding the minimum age required to access this adults-only paradise.
Solarium Update
In a recent email update, Royal Caribbean shared the good news that they are actively listening to guest feedback and making adjustments accordingly. So, what’s the scoop? Well, the new minimum age to enter the Solarium has been set at 18 years old, up from the previous age requirement of 16.
The cruise line had this to say about the change, “At Royal Caribbean, our guests’ feedback matters. This is why we have decided to keep our ‘adults-only’ areas consistent, and update the Solarium age restriction from 16+ to 18+ years old.”
This update was shared with travel agents, indicating that Royal Caribbean is dedicated to ensuring guests’ experiences align with their expectations.
But wait, what about the little ones traveling with you? Fear not! Kids can still walk through the Solarium, for instance, when they want to dine at the Solarium Bistro restaurant. The only change is that they can’t hang around or enjoy the venue’s pools – it remains an adults-only sanctuary.
It’s worth noting that sometimes, on cold-weather cruises like those in Alaska, the minimum age requirement may be waived for all guests if the main pool is just too chilly. So, while the Solarium’s age limit has shifted, Royal Caribbean continues to make every effort to ensure all guests have a comfortable and enjoyable cruise experience, regardless of where they’re sailing.
