Picturing A Royal Caribbean Adult Only Cruise Your Dream Escape
December 3, 2023Best Cruises For Teenagers
December 6, 2023Ready to embark on your perfect cruise, I’m Tom and I’m going to take you over everything that’s included with your cruise – Royal is one of the most inclusive cruise lines out there, so lets get into it.
What Is Included In A Royal Caribbean Cruise
Now let’s talk about what is actually included in a Royal Caribbean Cruise, depending on what ship you are on it can slightly vary. I’ll try to cover them that should be included on your cruise – I’m going to be using Quantum Class ships as an example throughout this article (which should apply to all of Royal Caribbean’s Fleet)
Main Dining Room – which is also known as the (MDR) – You’ll find free high-quality complimentary meals every night with a rating menu ensuring you get a taste of everything.
Windjammer Buffet – Windjammer is one of the biggest complimentary buffets that you’ll ever see – offering all kinds of international food options, with even vegan and vegetarian options throughout the buffet. You’ll also find complimentary tea, coffee, juice, and soda water – along with normal water. Also don’t forget to washy washy!
Sorrento‘s Pizzeria -As crazy as it sounds YES complementary meaning free pizza until 12AM. Not just pizza but great hot pizza, as much as you want and as often as you want. It’s dangerous, maybe it’s just me but you’ll find me with a plate full 99% of the time!
Café Promenade – You’ll find amazing treats, all time around from breakfast, lunch and dinner time – you’ll love items such as flaky croissandwich. The menu may change or vary ship to ship. Go down and check it out when your on board
Continental Breakfast via Room Service – Yep that’s right you can enjoy from a select menu that is completely free delivered to your cabin – i will say the food was decent, however prepared to order it the old fashion way. You’ll use your cabin phone to call room service and order the food. I’ve done it several times and it’s been hit and miss – while often we’re told it’ll be a 45-30 minute wait, it often comes in 10-15 minutes. However the food quality just isn’t as mind blowing as the Windjammer buffet for example.
Activities – You’ll be able to use your Royal App and see when selected activities are free such as the FlowRider, Northstar, Bumper cars and so much more – this all depends on what ship you are on.
Fitness center (Gym) – You’ll have access to all the gym equipment and saunas completely free. There is select options for paid options such as massages and other spa treatments.
Kids and Teen Club (Adventure Ocean Kids program and teen clubs ages 3-17) – For those who aren’t aware, Royal has an amazing selection of programs for kids and teens, you can see our guide on it Here – however note that the “Royal Babies and Tots℠ Nursery” is not inclusive and cost extra.
Pools and Spa’s – All of the pools and spas (Hot tubs) are free – other than the ones offered for spa treatments that come at a extra cost. Royal is know for having amazing, large and plenty of pools on their ships! The only other limitation that royal has is the pool in the solarium are restricted to 18+ Only – To see more on the solarium check it out Here.
The Royal App – This App is a Must have while on board or leading up to a cruise, not only can you see all the event happening on the calendar, it also allows you to book shows, dinner and many other things. One amazing feature that’s now free is the messaging app – you can messages other friends or fellow cruisers for free now. While I do love The Royal App, I will say for people using IOS (Apple phones) you won’t get notification of messages. This may be fixed after I’ve posted this, but you’ll need to manually check the app to see your messages.
Entertainment and Shows – When using your Royal App you can see shows and live entertainment, such as amazing and funny game shows. You’ll be able to see if your required to reserve seats or not – if it doesn’t have the option to “reserve” then its not required. Most if not all shows are first in, first served. It can get quite busy so get there nice and early (15 minutes is normally perfect)
What is included in the cabin
This is based off of Quantum Of The Seas, Interior stateroom with a Virtual Balcony – Royal Caribbean’s cabins are fairly similar across the fleet however, they may vary ship to ship. With that said lets get into it.
Tea/Coffee station – Inside the cabin on top of your draws you’ll have a small tea station, which includes: Kettle, Nescafe Blend 43, Sugar, few other small packets of items to make sure you can make yourself a lovely cup of tea or coffee. You’ll also get a mug to pour your drink in.
Hair Dryer – typically seen inside the draws you’ll get a basic but nice hair dryer – it has two power settings and works perfectly fine, gets decently hot – and does the job.
The TV – Depending on your room layout your TV might be on a mount called a Vesa mount, meaning it can be moved out to face the bed. The TV is good for room size, it might be smaller than what your normal use too. However this TV is decent, you’ll get nice picture quality and has on demand movies (Which cost) as well as a free movie channel. I personally had issues with audio not being synced with my movie one night on the free channel. The TV also features RCA along with two HDMI ports and audio out.
The Desk – The room also has a nice but small desk for your use along with a small chair – i’ve used it multiple times while doing work on my laptop, there is also typically 2 USB ports, 2 USA power outlets and 1 EU outlet near or above the table along with a mirror.
The Minibar – The minibar is very mini, you won’t be able to store too much inside of it. I personally use it to keep a bottle of water or two and couple of deserts from the windjammer for later! If you require a larger minifridge for medical reason this can be requested.
The Bathroom – In the bathroom you’ll get towels, face washers, hand towel along with two glass cups and 3 in 1 wash. The bathroom also on Quantum and Ovation has a large mirror and a 3 level storage shelf, along with a sink and toilet.
What Drinks Are Free On Royal Caribbean
You might be asking yourself what drinks are free on Royal Caribbean? – you’ll find free drinks in location like the Windjammer which according to Royal Caribbean’s website includes a range of complementary drinks.
Ice Water, Coffee, Tea, Lemonade, Juice
Gratuity
Now depending on where your sailing from your gratuities might be included with your ticket price. People who booking sailing from Australia will have automatically paid the gratuities on everything. Other countries may vary, so you may be wondering – How much are gratuities on Royal Caribbean? as of 06/12/2023 they have recently be raised to 18%.
Although its not something us Aussies have to really think about, for those who do. Your in luck cause you actually prepay the gratuities! So lets quickly go over How to prepay gratuities on Royal Caribbean – You simply need to call Royal Caribbean and advise them you’d like to pre-pay your gratuities (If you booked though a travel agent, you can call them and they will be able to sort it out for you)
